Does Carpet Cleaning Kill Fleas?
It’s Flea Season. From May to Early Fall if you’re a Dog owner you know all to well the hatred of the common Flea. I was recently asked by a prospective client “Does Carpet Cleaning Kill Fleas?”. As a Carpet Cleaning service I can not say that we Kill Fleas when we steam clean. In fact, I recommend having a pest control company come out and treat for the fleas prior to carpet cleaning.
Fleas are simply a difficult pest to kill. You want to kill the fleas that are alive first through having the house treated. Then you want to vacuum the house thoroughly, discarding the vacuum bag after each vacuuming. Then you will have your house treated one more time for the flea eggs that have hatched after the first treatment and vacuuming. Once this is completed then I recommend carpet cleaning and steam cleaning of all soft surfaces in the house.
When we provide Carpet Cleaning services with Fleas in mind, we will use a specialty disinfectant. Once treated we will use 220 degree Truck Mount Steam Cleaning to thoroughly clean your carpet and upholstery. This is a necessary step in completing the circle of Flea mitigation.
